Peter began as a flutist, and he studied with Gerald Quinlan (student of Georges Barrère), Thomas Nyfenger and Keith Underwood. He has performed in all styles and genres: from soloist on baroque flute at Alice Tully Hall in New York with the Ensemble for New Music, to frequent concerto soloist with the Orquestra Catalana de Cambra on modern flute, going all the way to premiering and publishing his own works for flute. He studied the Arnold Jacobs´ breathing techniques for many years with Keith Underwood. Peter has recently formed the Trio Phonos, a group dedicated to contemporary music, with bass clarinet virtuoso Harry Spaarnay and the distinguished French pianist Jean-Pierre Dupuy.
